THINK back to the year 2004. Some bright spark has just launched Facebook and Beyonce has ditched Destiny’s Child to start her journey towards world domination.
In an episode of Neighbours, an unsuspecting Toadie was casually watching a football game when he recognised his young cousin Stingray doing a nudie run across the field.
Stingray was arguably one of the cheekiest, most loveable characters to grace our screens in the Aussie soap.
Fans loved Scott “Stingray” Timmins’ antics, from desperately trying to win the heart of straight-laced Serena Bishop to bouncing off the walls in his usual hyperactive way.
Played by actor Ben Nicholas, Stingray’s character left Erinsborough in 2007 when the fan favourite died after donating bone marrow to his brother Dylan’s daughter (who he thought might have been his kid for a few episodes, aaahh soapies).
Many remember the heartbreaking scene when Stingray’s ashes were scattered over his favourite skate park.
So what has actor Ben Nicholas been up to since Neighbours?
The good news is that Ben’s future was much brighter than that of his Ramsay Street alter-ego.
Since leaving the soap he featured in a TV mini series called Neighbours vs. Zombies – which is as ridiculous as it sounds.
In 2015 he starred in a spoof game show called Footballer Wants A Wife – a series he wrote and starred in – where he played hunky and arrogant Steven.
Ten years since his last appearance on Neighbours, 30-year-old Nicholas looks like he’s done a bit of behind the scenes work on the show and the cheeky schoolboy has transformed into a bit of a hunk based on his Instagram posts.
